UNIVERSITY SUPPORT

for

Inclusion of Indigenous Forests & Eco-Systems

into a

Global Emissions Trading Scheme

Governments at all levels globally are keen to put together a strong presentation and case for the inclusion of Indigenous Forests into a future Global Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS). Hence they are working hard with the Geoengineering Research Alliance to audit and record their forests and prepare a business case for their addition.

However Governments need the Academic World to add their qualified voice and support for the inclusion of their Indigenous Forests & Eco Systems into the ETS.

By the end of 2019 it is expected that almost 'ALL' National & State Governments on every continent, including North America and Europe, will have joined, or will be supporting the Indigenous Forest program as this initiative is not only crucial for limiting global warming, it also will generate substantial new revenues and create scores of well paid local environmental employment opportunities for nearly every nation and state.

As an example the 22,000 square kilometers of indigenous forests of the Solomon Islands will under the suggested ETS program, generate approximately US$ 2.2 billion/year for its local communities. More than doubling its existing GDP.

UNIVERSITY & ACADEMIC INPUTS

THE FORESTS

Within the proposal we will be including case studies of scores of indigenous forests representative of each continent and island groupings. We hope to work with the Environment Faculty of Universities and Colleges in close proximity to each forest to gain data & statistics such as, the size, age, health, and the tons/acre the forest is capable of sequestering.

THE PROPOSAL

Academic input and advice will be sort across numerous sections of the proposal so as to ensure it accurately represents the benefits of including Indigenous Forests in a Global Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).

THE EMISSIONS TRADING SCHEME

It is important for a suggested Global ETS to be international accepted, that the economics are accurate and reflect the economic interests and considerations of a diverse array of state and national governments both on the supply and demand sides.
